The Project Manager and the Pyramid How to Manage Any Project Any Place Any Time eBook David Hinde Reviews
If you are looking for applicable introductory knowledge about the most important elements of project management, this will be your book. Rather than being lavished with dull management terms and processes you get an easy and entertaining to read story packed with examples of how to apply project management best practices.
I thought the pyramid analogy was well done and easy to understand. I think it would have been improved if it had included some design thinking and framing strategies in the first few chapters, but overall it was pretty good.
I had the honor of being this book's editor, and I am extremely pleased that it is now available for public consumption. David Hinde masterfully takes the reader on a journey that's not only informational, but also thoroughly enjoyable. He cleverly introduces easy-to-grasp project management concepts and processes as part of a compelling imagining of the past, and he provides helpful sample documents that can be customized and applied to various projects. I recommend this book not only to new project managers just beginning to find their way, but also to seasoned project managers who need a little refresher on how to get things done.
Amusing look into what could happen if Project managers and ancient Egypt pyramid builders worked together. It does emphasize that PM techniques can be used, regardless of time, and provides concrete theory yet fanciful applications (you are, after all, talking about a time traveling project manager) of PM. Good case study book for beginning PM students who need a break from the dry prose of PMBOK.
Good intro to Project Manager through a story telling easy reading. Brilliant way to pass the info without getting boring, congrats to the author.
